Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is the measurement of how much food, or energy, is required to maintain basic body functions such as heartbeat, breathing, and maintenance of body heat while you are in a state of rest. That energy is expressed in calories per day.

Knowing your RMR enables you to:

· Verify if a training or nutrition program has increased or decreased your metabolism

During your Test:
As you relax you will sit in a comfortable position for about 15-20 minutes. You'll be breathing into a tube, which will collect your exhaled air and analyze it.
Drink 2-3 eight (8) ounce glasses of water before coming to the office for your test. Relax. Before the test, avoid stressful situations as much as possible. During the test, it’s important that you RELAX. Being tense can increase your metabolic rate.
